Sometimes, the simple solution is low-tech; at Shepitek, we let the goal dictate the implementation, not the other way around.

Our Name

The name Shepitek is a portmanteau of our founder's parents' surnames: Shepich and Tekchandani. We are committed to being the kind of company that is worthy of bearing these family names.

The Shepitek logo consists of three four-pointed stars connected by five circular arcs. The numbers (3,4,5) are the simplest Pythagorean triple — in other words, the smallest natural number side lengths of a right triangle. This symbolism encodes our motto: keep it simple, get it right.

AI Disclosure

Due to the controversy surrounding artificial intelligence, we have decided to outline our policies that govern how we use AI at Shepitek to give our clients full transparency.

In our experience, there are certain specific use-cases for which large language models are the best tool for the job. Some of these include speech recognition, feature extraction from unstructured text data or images, etc. We will only use LLMs when they are the best algorithm for the task, and never without express permission from our clients.

However, Shepitek is not, and will never be a "slop shop". The use of agentic and generative AI contradicts our values. When AI is used for tasks that require skill, creativity, divergent thinking, or a big picture understanding of the problem, it undermines human excellence, and often produces an inferior result. Shepitek remains committed to doing work that we can be proud of, and that means that we will never put our name on a pile of slop.

Any LLMs we do use are small, open source, and hosted on our own systems. This means no data centers, no sensitive information sent to third parties, and no funding tech oligopoly.
